This completed bathroom project in St Kilda involved a full transformation of a small room. The aim of this project was to modernise the space while ensuring all installation and waterproofing works met standards.
The original bathroom was completely removed, including old bathtub, toilet, and outdated fittings. Once stripped back, all wall and floor substrates were carefully prepared to support long term tile installation. A new waterproofing material was applied across the entire bathroom, with particular attention given to wet areas around the bath, plumbing points, and floor junctions. Proper waterproofing is essential in apartment bathrooms, as it protects the structure and prevents water damage to neighbouring properties.
The bathroom tiling design was selected to visually open the small space. Light coloured wall tile was installed in a horizontal layout, helping the room appear wider and more open. Darker floor tile was used to add contrast and definition, creating a clean and contemporary finish. Tile alignment, spacing, and grout lines were executed with precision to maintain a sharp, consistent appearance throughout the room.
